Trade Talks!

Carmelo Anthony will stay a Nugget for now...

He says that he loves the city of Denver and is happy of what the Nuggets have done this off season so for now he will stay put. On that note they will still have a good team but I don't know if they can over take the Lakers. Lakers are stacked and they went to work this off season also.

With that being said....

25 Days Until Tip Off!

This is Only Just The Beginning.

This is my image and six word title I am going to use for my Comp paper.

This image represents the semi finals game in my high school state basketball tournament. We played at the Frank Erwin center which is the University of Texas basketball Arena. This isn't a picture of our actual game but it just shows a look inside the arena and how big it actually is. For a high school kid it can be scary seeing all those seats and the big arena when you are standing on the floor. And to hit the game winning shot in the tournament to move on to the finals was a huge part of my life. Even though we didn't win in the finals I will still carry that memory with me.

My Top Players

Fave 5

Just like T-Mobile. I’m going to give my list of My Fave five around the league. Not only are these guys fun to watch, but they are also All-stars almost every year.

Kevin Durant
He is very quite and he doesn’t boast about his stardom which is very cool in my book. He is also virtually un-guardable and can score from anywhere on the court.

Dwyane Wade
D-Wade has to be one of the top players to watch because he will sacrifice his body and do whatever it takes to win. He is always getting knocked down and he gets right back up.

Jason Kidd
I like watching Jason Kidd because he is all about his teammates. He wants to get out and run and he always looks to pass before anything. Yeah, he is getting old but he is still one of the best points in the league today.

Kobe Bryant
I mean he is Kobe. Enough said.

Vince Carter

Vinsanity, In-Vince-Able I mean this guy was amazing in his prime and he still has a few highlight real dunks in is tank. I still remember the Olympics dunk.

Jumped over a 7 foot person
Clear over!

Trade Shannon!

Shannon Brown!

That could have been one of the single greatest plays in NBA history. Shannon Brown attempted this dunk in the playoffs last year against Jason Richardson and the Phoenix Suns on 5/17/2010. If he would have actually dunked it, everyone would still be talking about as one of the best of the year and possibly ever. How high he got and how far he jumped from alone would have been magnificent but when you add another player and a foul, that makes it amazing. Too bad he missed.

On another note: Lakers TRADE SHANNON BROWN! Yeah, he is collecting rings but he just doesn’t play like he should. In my opinion he will be not only a starter but eventually superstar on any other team. When they actually put him in the game he adds an explosive barrage that instantly raises the intensity of the team due to his high flying acts.

2010 Tip Off!

With a little less than 33 days until the NBA Tip Off, there has been a lot of movement that will completely change the league. The biggest move had to be LeBron leaving his hometown in search of a ring, signing with the Heat to join forces with two other super stars. There were more, high quality moves this off season that can have the power houses (i.e. Lakers, Celtics) worried but I won’t get into too much detail about that.

I know that it’s still early but I think I’m going to make some predictions now on what I feel is going to end up happening come playoff time.

Oklahoma City Thunder vs. Las Angeles Lakers – Lakers Win
Miami Heat vs. Boston Celtics- Heat Wing

Finals:
Lakers vs. Heat – Kobe gets another Ring!

D. Wade and LeBron will have a nice run. I feel that the big three is not going to work as well as everyone thinks it will. I just don’t see them being able to compare with the depth of the Lakers. The Lakers are just too big and too well coached.

Durant - MVP!!! USA - GOLD!!!

For those of you who hasn’t watched the FIBA World Championships. US have won the Gold medal to stop a 16 year drought since 1994. US played Turkey in the Championship game which Turkey was led by a NBA star from the Phoenix Suns, Hedu Turkoglu. The game was close but turned kind of one sided once the US started firing in all cylinders. Well the US won 81-64, led by Kevin Durant who was the only player to reach over 20 points, ended with 28.

On another note Kevin Durant of the Oklahoma City Thunder Was named Most Valuable Player for the 2010 FIBA World Championship. He averaged 22.1 points and 6.2 rebounds in the tournament. He was also made 1st Team All-Tournament team.

I have actually had the pleasure to meet and play with KD in my hometown of Austin Texas a few years back and he is truly a quiet and humble superstar and I feel that he deserves everything he has going for him. From the games I watched of the FIBA Championship, (well even the NBA games) Durant is the meaning of unstoppable.

 Congrats USA and KD!

About Me

Well first off I would like to say that this blog is about lyrical music and Basketball and sometimes both together somehow relating the two together.

Music is a big part of my life. I can’t go anywhere without it, from walking to class to shooting jumpers in the REC. No matter what kind of mood you are in, there is certain music that can help you cope with your feelings.

I have played basketball my whole life until just recently. I love the game and I know all of the ends and outs that have to do with the game. I watch every level of Basketball from NBA to high school games, even though NCAA is much better to watch because that is “true” basketball.

These two subjects have a huge impact on my life and have sculpted me into the person that I am today. So I feel that these two would be perfect to do my blog over.
