For those of you who hasn’t watched the FIBA World Championships. US have won the Gold medal to stop a 16 year drought since 1994. US played Turkey in the Championship game which Turkey was led by a NBA star from the Phoenix Suns, Hedu Turkoglu. The game was close but turned kind of one sided once the US started firing in all cylinders. Well the US won 81-64, led by Kevin Durant who was the only player to reach over 20 points, ended with 28.
On another note Kevin Durant of the Oklahoma City Thunder Was named Most Valuable Player for the 2010 FIBA World Championship. He averaged 22.1 points and 6.2 rebounds in the tournament. He was also made 1st Team All-Tournament team.
I have actually had the pleasure to meet and play with KD in my hometown of Austin Texas a few years back and he is truly a quiet and humble superstar and I feel that he deserves everything he has going for him. From the games I watched of the FIBA Championship, (well even the NBA games) Durant is the meaning of unstoppable.
